Christina is a senior scientist working within the pharmaceutical industry with focus on therapeutic oligonucleotides. She initially joined the committee as a PhD student in 2018 and has recently transitioned from academic research to the private sector. Christina began as the membership officer but has recently become more involved in organising ChromSoc/BMSS summer studentships.
Her background has been focused on analysis of biomolecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids and her PhD research centred on the development of multidimensional chromatographic methods interfaced with MS detection. Christina was a post-doctoral researcher at The University of Sheffield, developing LC-MS based analytical methods for the analysis of alkylated nucleic acids and mRNA therapeutics. Prior to this she worked within the CRO sector, developing clinical assays. She has collaborated with multiple industrial partners within her career and advocates for networking and development opportunities for early career scientists. Her areas of interest are method development for bioanalysis, developing sustainable approaches to analysis and computational approaches to data processing.
Christina has published on behalf of the Chromatographic Society in The Analytical Scientist (Casting Your Net(work) Wide-25/10/2019).
