Using UPLC to monitor A to I editing in RNA.
Summer Studentship Report 2024.
By Nivedita Nair and Ysobel Baker- University of Southampton.
Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) editing occurs naturally in RNA, but can also be deliberately induced for therapeutic benefit. Methods to study this process would accelerate the development of new therapeutics in this area. In this project we have investigated a new class of inosine specific probes and compared these to those reported in the literature. Our results suggest that “Tag-X” can selectively label inosine under mild conditions and further work is ongoing to investigate this further.
Project work reported on for 2024, however this research is ongoing.
